Look: NBA top 20 Free Agents for the week of August 11th
Ben Gordon finds himself in a tough spot. He wants to get paid but
doesn’t want to be a Bull anymore. Gordon knows that Chicago’s
backcourt is loaded with players that play his position. If he takes
the one year tender he knows that his minutes will be cut for players
that will actually be on the Bulls for years to come, not a one and done
player. Gordon has to find a team willing to give him a big contract
and the only remaining team with big money to spend is the Grizzlies.
The problem is that the Grizzlies are also stacked at the same position
that Gordon plays and he wouldn’t fit a need with the team. Gordon
might have to suffer this next season by taking the 1 year tender offer,
not get much playing time, and hope someone gives him a bigger contract
next season.

Ron Artest getting
traded from the Kings to the Rockets completely changes the West. Since
the Rockets got Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady they have been considered a
good team but very injury prone. It happens each year; both Yao and
Tracy get injured at some point in the season. Each time this happens,
the Rockets are stuck looking for a second offensive weapon on the
team... more

Thinking Out Loud: Johnny Carson Has Nothing On Me By: Ted Fleming,
Tampa Bay Sports Net
Just call me Carnac the
Magnificent.
That is the character the
late Johnny Carson used on the Tonight Show where he dressed up like a
swami, put an envelope to his head and answered the question inside.
His sidekick, Ed McMahon,
would repeat each and every answer eventually prompting Carson to come up with a
pointed quip toward the end of the skit.
I have no punch line; however, I did have
something to say in my last offering about the tenure of one Pat Riley and a
solid reason why he should step down as head coach of the Heat....

NBA Age Limit - A Blessing in
Disguise
The 2007 NBA draft class was the most hyped and highly covered of any draft
class in the last five years and maybe even this decade - and 9 of the 10 first
picks were still teenagers. Something very profound has occurred in the NBA in
the past two years due in large part to the new rule that disallows any high
school student from entering the NBA draft until they are 19 years old,
requiring that they spend a year in the NCAA at a college of their choice before
they make the big jump. The 2008 draft class is looking to be infinitely deeper
than last year's as a result with freshman like Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, and
O.J. Mayo shaping up to be some of the most exciting college freshman in
years...more
“The
Heckler” on a Fan Speaks Out: Ben Wallace and Aaron Gray Interview
And the man in the
middle is Ben Wallace and Aaron Gray.

what he did to improve in the off-season. Gray explains the difference in the

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Curry spent most of last season in the NBA's Developmental League after being drafted in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft.
Three years ago, the
Houston Rockets teamed up
superstars Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming, with nary a single series win to show for
it so far. Apparently brass has decided that they need a third superstar to make
the next step to join the elite teams, enter Ron Artest.
Houston has reached a deal with the Kings for the moody forward, sending Donte
Greene, Bobby Jackson and a first-round draft choice to Sacramento. The trade
can't be official until August 14th due to a league rule the prevents players
from being traded within 30 days of signing a contract (which Greene did
mid-July), but Houston fans are already abuzz at Artest's impending arrival...more
