NFL Computerized Power Rankings Week 4

We enter week 4 with a lot of things shaking out and a few surprises. Who would have thought that Charlie Batch would be the savior at quarterback for the Steelers? The Steelers are 3-0 without Ben and everyone was just hoping for 2-2 and treading water. Then again, Who thought the Chiefs would even sniff the top ten this year? It is going to get harder for them the next few weeks, but they deserve credit for what they have done so far and more than half of the roster has less than 3 years experience. They will get good and they are going to be good for a long time when they do.

Rank (LW) Team
(2) image The Steelers could start Bobby Layne at Quarterback this week and they still might win the game.  Makes you wonder what Big Ben’s role is when he returns
(1) image It’s amazing that they were even close to beating the Bears despite the team-record 18 penalties
(7) image NFC South has a legitimate rivalry now that Falcons have won at New Orleans.
(5) image Once again, the Colts are looking great on offense. No surprise there.
(9) image Back-to-back wins over Dallas and Green Bay show the Bears are a force in the NFC.
(10) image Once they get injured defensive players such as OLB Calvin Pace and CB Darrelle Revis back in the lineup, the Jets should be back to being one of the NFL’s elite teams
(15) image They found a way against the Giants, even though they were outplayed in a lot of areas.  Chris Johnson continues to carry the offense
(11) image It wasn’t pretty against the Browns, but they found a way. Now comes a huge game this week at Pittsburgh against the undefeated Steelers.
(16) image This team is fun to watch come together and they are YOUNG. They wont get there this year, but are a future force in the NFL
(18) image Now that Michael Vick is the new king of Philadelphia, do you think he’d let Donovan McNabb run some plays from the Wildcat for him?
(14) image The Bengals are winning with defense.
(3) image Their defense hasn’t played that well the past two games after impressing in the opener and something is missing. Super Bowl Hangover maybe?
(12) image When the Buffalo passing game is finding success against you, then you know there are problems
(6) image Miami is better than most thought they would be at this point in the season
(4) image That wasn’t the Battle of Texas, more like the Alamo. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back.
(22) image That’s the type of game we expect to see from the Cowboys. Now can they do it for more than a game here and there.
(8) image The secondary continues to be the bane of San Diego’s existence
(9) image Vikings go into the bye with a win but still plenty of concerns.
(23) image Who would have believed, but Pete Carroll has this team 2-1 and tied for the lead atop the division.
(17) image They face a tough Tennessee team on the road with a chance to fall to 1-3. They can’t recover from that, they are not that good.
(13) image So who are the Bucs, the team that squeaked by the first two weeks or the team that was dominated by the Steelers?
(21) image The Giants appear to be a team in disarray
(30) image Rams seeking first division win since 2007 when Seattle visits in Week 4. It’s no longer a given that they lose each week.
(19) image The pressure is on Donovan McNabb and Mike Shanahan for Sunday’s trip to Philadelphia.
(27) image Schedule toughens up with San Diego, New Orleans in next two weeks.
(28) image The Raiders. Just Lose Baby. Finding new ways to lose week after week.
(25) image It really comes down to a lack of talent on both sides of the ball.
(29) image Here’s another bad team that is at least competitive. The Lions are on their way to having a pretty solid offense, but their defense is what is bringing them down
(24) image It’s too bad QB Luke McCown got hurt because he probably would be starting right now. David Garrard has played as bad as you could play over the last two weeks
(26) image Niners seem tight and wound up, just like their high-strung coach. San Francisco is making the Nixon administration look like they had everything in order
(32) image Trent Edwards is the lucky one this week getting away from there.
(31) image I don’t think there’s a team that is more boring than this one. They lose points just for making me watch them play.
